Second Schedule to the Constitution of India

Part A of the Second Schedule is titled "Provisions as to the President and the Governors of States". It contains 4 paragraphs.
Paragraph 1 specifies that the President and the Governors of the States shall receive a monthly salary of 10,000 and 5,500 respectively. The 54th Amendment permits Parliament to increase these salaries without amending the Second Schedule.〔 Although, the Schedule still states these amounts, the monthly salaries of the President and the Governors of the States have subsequently been increased. Paragraph 2 states that the President and the Governors of the States are entitled to such allowances as were payable respectively to the Governor-General of the Dominion of India and to the Governors of the corresponding Provinces immediately before the commencement of the Constitution on 26 January 1950. Paragraph 3 states that the President and the Governors of the States, throughout their respective terms of office, are entitled to the same privileges to which the Governor-
General and the Governors of the corresponding Provinces were respectively entitled immediately before the commencement of the Constitution. Paragraph 4 entitles the Vice-President or any other person, discharging the functions of, or acting as the President, or any person discharging the functions of the Governor, to the same emoluments, allowances and privileges as the President or the Governor whose functions he discharges or for whom he acts, as the case may be.〔
