It contains 4 paragraphs. Paragraph 1 specifies that the President and the Governors of the States shall receive a monthly salary of 10,000 and 5,500 respectively. The 54th Amendment permits Parliament to increase these salaries without amending the Second Schedule.〔 Although, the Schedule still states these amounts, the monthly salaries of the President and the Governors of the States have subsequently been increased. Paragraph 3 states that the President and the Governors of the States, throughout their respective terms of office, are entitled to the same privileges to which the Governor- General and the Governors of the corresponding Provinces were respectively entitled immediately before the commencement of the Constitution.
